what HID bulbs are the best. like the oem bulbs,but brigher 5000K+ ??????

 

5k will be a blue tinged light.

4.3k is going to give you a pure white light. Anything lower and you get into some yellows.

 

Really 5000k isnt to far off from 4300k, 6000k what i have has a slight blue to it. It also depends who makes them.

 

I think the OP is getting the color temp of the bulb mixed up with the brightness. Also, does he even have an HID kit installed, it doesn't sound like he has one yet. OP, are you planning on getting a kit or just want to replace your halogen bulbs?

 

4300k brightest light when you move towards the up say 5k,6k,8k,12k you get less light the higher k you go but you get the tints
see attached pic i dont think its right on the shades/kelvin rating but gives an example.

so you just want halogen bulbs? no hid? might as well just go with some silverstars from walmart

 

HID bulbs aren't compatible with the halogen sockets, you need the whole kit to use the bulbs.

 

Nokyas, for example, sell by color temperature -- even though they're standard bulbs... My yellow Nokyas say they're 2,500 Kelvin...

 

Yeah go with some Sylvania silverstars or Ultra's. If you get that fake HID look from regular bulbs, you actually lose visibility from what I have seen.

 

I believe my piaa's say 4100k for the bulbs like the other guys have said you would need the whole kit to use it as hid's.

I recommend either 5k or 6k. I have both as for brand name I personally like Mcculloch brand. I got a deal from ebay. Seller was selling them for $185 + shipping.

 

Now your talking about a full HID kit correct? I am also looking at getting an HID kit from ebay but there's so many to choose from!!!

 

ebay is flooded with hi kits, if your going ebay get the one with the best warranty but then again what happens if the seller ever drops out of site? might be better off buying from the group buy atleast you will have some sort of contact

 

If you want HID kits, wait for Slimcubby to do another group buy... he sells high quality kits...

 

Any idea when he is doing the next one? I kind of want to get a set fast!

I guess if they guarantee it, you can't go wrong... they are expensive... Slims kits are a bit cheaper...

 

possibly a stupid question but the worse i can get is a stupid answer.... whats a better idea....2 extra lamps.. hella for example... or HIDs?

 

Uhhh, that just depends on what look you are going for. Now if you mean more light power, yeah the hella's are going to help but do you really want to turn those on when driving on streets and highways? To me, headlights, plus factory fogs, plus off-road lights are a bit to much for commercial traffic.
