Hey anyone can jump in on this one. I'm talking to a seller on ebay on a HID kit for my truck. I asked him what wattage the kit was and this was his respone:

"The system is 35 watts. The Tacoma's do not require the 55 watts kits. The light output is the same. Only the ballast draw more current to keep the lights from flickering on some type of cars."
"The 55 watt kits have the same light output. All factory HID lights are 35 watt. Some vehicles such as Dodge and Chrysler require a 55 watt system to keep the lights from flickering."

Is he on top of his game? Is it true that the 35W kit puts out the same light output as the 55W kit?

Got yah. Then he's right then huh? That with a 55W ballast, the intensity and brightness of the light is the same as the 35W ballast?

See that's what I want to find out for sure. If the 55W's are brighter then the 35W, then that's what i want.;)

Who makes a good houseing for the HIDs, that gives the propper cut off? I know the factory houseing gives alot of glare.

    hes full of crap, twice!!

1 - flickering is from crappy ballasts not putting out enough w for the bulbs. (im almost positive)

2 - a 55w kit will put out more light than a 35w kit. BUT, with more light comes more heat, especially on cheap aftermarket bulbs that will come w/ the kit. this means that your headlights will possibly begin to peal the chrome reflector. i've seen pics of this happening if you dont believe me.
