I have a deep dish Satoshi and not a grill craft. They will fit behind a grill craft grille.

How much clearance were you short? I have a semi-satoshi (the lip is cut down by about a third) and am wondering if I can cram these in there.

You know i cant give you a exact measurement but id say the lights overlapped the lip by an inch or an inch and a half. Im sure you could get it to fit with some modification with mounting.
