hmm needs another set on the bottom. no but seriously why don't you just take it on the highway and just check your temperature if it's higher then normal.

I had 4x hella 500ff across the grill of my 2nd Gen. No temp change.

There is a lot of room around and under the grille for airflow- your good.

Might take off that damage multiplier though..

I don’t have the link, but there was an interview with one of the engineers. He said that they designed the front end to get more air to the radiator due to the fact the radiator is 8” from the grill which is way more than any of the previous gens. Seemed they didn’t want the front blocked... I wouldn’t do it since the wind drag alone would be a abnoxious. Seems to me you would want that wind, not being blocked by those nice round lenses...

Spend the big bucks and get a color adjusting Adapt Rigid light bar...(only kidding due to it being $$$)

(Commercial is a little “cheesy :jerkoff:” to me, but the concept is cool)

in all seriousness a slimmer design would benefit you a lot more even though those older style setups look slick. You could get a headache rack style setup for the round style and it will affect your mpg the same-ish and not mess with cooling the truck (importante’)

This truck’s top setup must absolutely make it like day...

(Not cheap, but has that older trophy truck look)

Cubes and led light bars don’t stress batteries as bad as halogens or HIDs, but if that’s not a big deal then ...
    do whatever floats your truck.

I like leaving my lights on when I camp and other reasons...so LED with the correct filters seems ideal for me

quad pillar cubes and a 20’ bumper light and it does just fine on the night trails, even at speed. I have different color lenses and the yellow works wonders in the dust.

(Shown with black filter ‘street’...(yah right) lenses. Inside spot, rotating outer is flood)

Which mounts and lights are these?
....and I'm assuming they don't hit your windshield when the hoods up?

    The mounts are CBI

The lights are any 3” cube. I like Auxbeam for the $

The trick is the custom steel, rubber lined extender I bolted to the mounts to hold and swivel the outer while maintaining the inner.

And no, I have about 1/2” to the windshield with the hood up.

Never knew about that light bar until now. Thanks for sharing. Adding that to the wish list.

Your money is better spent elsewhere. Rigid makes a decent product and the warranty is great, but their lights don't hold up well and develop condensation every time. Ive had a few of their lightbars and cubes, as well as the rigid Tacoma fogs. All of them leak or have water in them after a little while. Taco ones developed condensation in 2 weeks after install. The cheap knockoff ones powder is worse but the light comparison isn't huge and they are 1/5-1/10 of the cost of rigid.

I’ve had these Auxbeams for 2 yrs now in snow, rain and 90-100 degree heat with zero condensation. I swear by these for the $

Have a buddy who adds extra seal to his LED bars before installation. He adds thin layer of silicone on the outside around lenses.

So is the double mount a part that you made, rigged from other parts or that you bought?

Any pix or details or is it a secret?

I could have sworn I saw some double ditch mounts but can’t find them.

It’s a solid piece of steel I measured and rubber coated. It supports the lights pretty well. They don’t shake that much at all on the trails.

    Cool. Thanks for that.
I’d like to rig up some ditch lights, they’d be really helpful.

The spot/flood combo is awesome. Super fun on the desert trails at night...saves a few jack rabbits
