    Hey guys,

So I have some eBay projector angel eye heads with a 6K HID kit that came with the headlight housings. I am going to get the OEM smoked chrome TRD headlights for my truck, but I was wondering if the current HID bulbs that I have will fit/work with the OEM housings.

If they don't, want kind of HID bulbs do I need to get for the OEM smoked chrome headlights?

    Please help.

Can't say man, can you post pictures of the bulbs out of the headlights? From what I can remember our trucks take the H4 bulbs.

I think the bulbs I have right now are H1, that's what all the descriptions for the projectors say...

Do the H4 bulbs have a shield or no? I heard something about some HID kits/bulbs coming with the option of shield or no shield. Something like D2S or similar? I don't know much about lighting so any help is appreciated.

When I ordered from DDM tuning, I don't recall having a "shield" option. I purchased the H4 High/Low bulbs.

Ok so I have to get new H4 bulbs..

I am assuming I can use em with my ballasts and everything right now, just gotta replace the bulbs. Right?

And I need to find a way to aim them a little once installed, but the pics aren't showing in that thread of how to do it.

Here's a diagram on how to align them. You will need a phillips screw driver and a garage door.

Not sure, if you could use the ballast on those bulbs. To be honest man, i'd scrap the whole set up and just buy the whole kit from like DDM tuning. I had zero problems with mine and they've been on my truck for a year now.

whippersnapper - thanks for the help man, I'm actually thinking i will get a whole new kit with ballasts and bulbs... but it says that theres an option for a harness, error eliminator, and adaptor cables, do I need any of those to run HID's with stock OEM smoked headlights?

I know I can do retrofit, but don't have means right now. Barely have enough for the headlight housings as it is. I will in the future though as I want to.

The Nittos are sold, I updated the thread.

FWIW, the HID kit I bought from Slim Cubby is an H4 base bulb and it has a shield below the bulb to help with glare. The DDM kits don't have that shield.
