Hid projector headlights

Looking to put something new on the 2015 taco. anyone have experience with these or an opinion on something else?

For that price id assume the quality is along the lines of spyder....
Steer clear, save some money for a proper retrofit with parts from TRS.

 

I would be skeptical ordering those, but that's just me. There are plenty of members on here that can make you a badass set, they'll just cost a little more. Peace of mind will go a long way when you don't have to worry about them fogging up. Plus, you can custom order them. I went with all black.

 

For just a few bucks more you can retro fit them properly. I really hate getting blinded by shitty headlight mods.

 

Or if you are capable, it is pretty easy to DIY. Took me a total of about 6 hours and I was going somewhat slow. Think most people use this site: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/ for parts.

One of my favorite upgrades. Definitely worth it whichever route you take to get there.

Honestly, just DIY if you're capable of taking out the headlights! It's super easy. The hardest part is aligning the goddamn things, but everything else is simple!

Did mine the other weekened. Took about 3 hours total and that's with my taking them apart a few times cause i forgot to put one reflector back in haha

I have those exact ones. They work fine thus far no issues.

 

I have that set currently (they are Spyder brand), except mine just has the halogen bulbs. Hate them. I've got a set of retrofitted Stormtrooper style lights from Capnmorgan that are badass. I'll be selling my Spyders as soon as I get the retro'd ones in.

But if you like the look of those Spyders and don't mind halogen light, PM me and we can discuss me shipping them to you for far less than those you linked.

 

The headlights linked in the original post are just aftermarket halogen projector housings with HID bulbs in them. They're one (small) step above putting HID bulbs in the factory headlights. The light output is less than ideal, so is the beam pattern, and you will most likely give off a bunch of glare to oncoming cars.

You can retrofit your existing headlights very affordably if you do it yourself.

Pair those with a decent 35w HID bulb/ballast (with bulb color somewhere between 4000k and 5000k) and you'll be very pleased with your efforts.

Phillips has a good LED option for the stock headlight housing. I have these and love them. Way more useable light.
