whatd you do with the old ones still have em?

 

My right side projector has a weird cut off. It is not straight on the right side, it seems to start out straight them dips down and i don't get a clean cutoff

 

^ how did you set your bulb? Take it out and set it back in and see if that helps.

 

yeah i tried removing the bulb and readjusting it and it doesn't seem to do anything. My left side (driver side) has a nice cut off but the right side has that weird output.

 

Did you do bulb, rubber washer, c ring and then locknut? I had weird cut offs and as soon as I followed this step I got a better beam pattern.

 

I have FX-Rs if that makes a difference. It did not come with any washers just the c-ring. So I put the ring then bulb and clamped it down.

 

not sure about the fxr's, but my ls 460 projectors are very fragile one pair set was screwed up during shipping from black flame customs. this is just a thought as i know my cut off was not looking good either and when jb got them back he said the shield was smacked off. i did the bulb adjustment as well as try and trouble shoot it with him, but they where just ganked.

 

Damn... I haven't played with those yet.

 

are you running mini's nightstr? you had mentioned the c ring lol. i had those as well then i went for the 460's the high beam is not as structured, but the low beam is far far better! nice color flicker and a thick ribbon of color on the center of the cutoff.

 

my 460's are actually back at black flame for leakage! i'm also seeing if jb can try something different regarding the leds i'm going to have him try and light just the bowl this time instead of having a strip visible ala audi. i just could not get used to that look on my truck.

 

^ Yeah I have the mini's and love them. I can install a set in about an hour.

yep easy to install for sure when i did my first retro with them i ran them for a few months but the giggling was getting on my nerves.so i called in a professional the first set he sent me the shield and grill clip was broken off lol then the second set the grill clip broke when i was installing and they leaked third times a charm i hope.

when i would hit bumps while driving the lights would moves ever so slightly the minis are a high quality projector setup so the cutoff is super sharp even more so with clear lens so it was making me nuts.

 

They use the same stuff... and charge 850 for it ...

 

Yeah I have noticed that... Damn it now it's going to bug me.

 

I noticed it when i tested mine... then i tighten them to the max and never saw it again.

 

i bought the parts from mat at trs and he recommended a professional install the 460's so black flame or lightwerks where my 2 choices being in nj. i could not get in contact with light werks and jb got right back to me and he did the labor with the parts mat sent him. this is getting silly though three times! i will say this for him though he does do good looking stuff and his customer service is tops. i believe the problem is eagle eyes brand headlights the grill clip just would not reach on the second set and it seemed very easy to break off. the first pair it was broken during shipping along with the projector. he is sourcing tyc brand lights now so we will see how they fit idk i hope its better though. i ordered shit lights from us auto parts some crappy site i found on ebay that fit great lol i went through 3 sets with the bhlm then the retros.

 

yea i did not have the stones to keep wrenching on those rings they give you to tighten the minis down with. i thought i was going to break them for sure at one point. the out put on the minis is awesome and i love the really structured high beam i actually kinda miss them a little now.
