Took apart my truck today to install some new speakers and sound deadening. The previous owner left a sub in the truck and I was going to wire the speakers to that. Turns out there was no power getting to the sub, so my ingenious ass started pulling wires across bare metal. Of course the negative sparked and shorted the battery.

Dash was dead. Ignition dead. Everything dead inside the cab. Pulled the battery and it was pulling 12.4v and 540 CCA out of 750. Continue on with the sound deadener and speakers and after about 90 minutes, put the battery back in. Everything fires up and is normal. Lights work. Radio works. New speakers sound great. Just one thing, my @kustom54lighting retrofits are kaput. Everything that wired to battery still works. Hood lights, bed lights, LED fog lights, lightbar. Turn signals. Parking lights. Reverse lights and camera. Everything is normal except for the headlights.

I replaced all fuses for the headlights and still nothing. Ballasts blown? Bulbs?

How about the fuse from the relay harness to the retrofits?

^^^...that’s what my bet’s on. Usually that inline fuse is right to the battery so that’s an easy one to kill when you short the battery

Checked and replaced. The 30 amp that comes right off the battery to relay harness. Original was good but double checked and replaced anyway. @kustom54lighting

unplug the h4 harness going to the hid harness and probe it for power and ground when the headlight is on.
