got mine friday right before the post office closed...

 

Nice. The wiring harness was a pain in the ass for me... Not sure if they're all like that, or I just got the wrong pieces. Had to change it up a little and use some other pieces from my tool box.

My other pair should have been shipped from WA today, headin on up to Canada.. yay for duty... ugh...

 

so where did others who bought the 55 watt ones mount the ballast to the truck. did anyone else build a bracket and attach it to the back of the bumper?

 

I hid mine in my bumper with some zip ties

 

Ha thats what I did, only with the stock bumper

 

Velcro double side taped to the aluminum bumper support.

 

I was thinking Velcro too. I first considered building an aluminum bracket to screw to the bumper but Velcro would be easier. Thanks for the advice. This site is awesome!

What did everyone use for their grounds, and what did you tap into for the switched power?

 

Industrial velcro is the way to go. There's a couple of places in the engine bay you can attach them. I didn't want mine near the bumper.

 

i installed mine the way it should get hooked up but after using a voltage tester found out that im not getting power through the ballasts. i get power everywhere threw the line up to that point. did anyone else have a problem with the ballasts before i bug the manufacturer?

Try flipping the connections. Like unplug rotate 180 degrees and plug back in

 

IIRC, black is 12v+ and blue is the ground. Make sure you have a good clean ground as well.

 

thanks for all your help. both mine were wired backwards. i dont know why i didnt think about trying that out yesterday.

 

yes, although it took a while for it to ship... lights were amazing....i met up with him this weekend just to get the lights install.. hes a very busy guy... juggling school, sport team, lights and a small amount of time to breath.. he does work on interior lights as well, i am thinking about contacting him later down the road for some minor interior lighting (footwells and such).......he is a good guy with good intentions, i just think that hes trying to drive before he starts the engine...

 

Got my second pair of lights finally. They weren't shipped when he said they were shipped, so I wasn't able to take them home with me from my grandparents when I was visiting. Since I wasn't able to take them home, they had to be shipped to Canada, because I'm not driving 7 hours to go get them, and I wont be visiting for several months.

Anyway... $45 in shipping to get them here, and I finally unpackaged the box. This is what I got.




I'm working on straightening the bulbs right now... thankfully they work. Ballasts are all beat up... Wont be able to see them, but still...

Oh, and no free LED dome and map lights, like he said I would have in compensation.
