    Hey man, would it be possible for me to get some D2S bulbs for a 04 STI? And I heard that you can't go past 6000k on the stock ballast. Is that true?

    Yes, I can get D2S along with any other stock HID bulb size. I haven't heard of the issue going higher Kelvin on stock ballasts. I wouldn't see how it would be a problem, I have seen it several times done. Personally I wouldn't go over 6000K anyway since you lose brightness.

    Actually according to sylvania I need D2R. Would you happen to know what wattage I need?

    They would be a little more than $30 since it's a factory bulb. I believe they would run $45 for the low beam but I will have to double check. And I think the wattage is 35w and can double check that as well. I will get back with you tonight.

    I haven't had time to troubleshoot because all of the wiring is in loom and ziptied nicely. But what I do notice is when I turn the lights on, the broken light flickers for a second, and then turns off. With your professional knowledge, would you be able to figure out what needs to be replaced? I'm thinking ballast maybe?

    Hmm sounds like it could either be a bad ballast, loose wire connection or bad wire harness. To know for sure we would need to do some troubleshooting.

    You could get a voltage tester and first test the wires between the bulb and the ballast, if it is good then it's just the bulb, if not then check the voltage between the stock harness and the ballast and if that still isn't good then it's the truck. Then just keep going down the line
