So were the ballasts and what not pure plug and play, or did you have to do any kind of splicing or anything to get it to work?

single beam is plug and play.

bi-xenon you run a wire from the battery to the supplied relay. connect the factory headlight harness to the wire harness supplied with the kit. run the wires to the headlights. plug in the ballast to the supplied wire harness. then plug the bulbs into the ballast or ignitor depends how its set up. put them in the socket and BAM turn your headlights on.

thanks. yeah I know the bi-xenon you have to do extra stuff with the relays and such, I just meant with the factory wire harness.

No splicing at all. Like gotlift mentioned, there is a power wire that comes from the supplied relay harness that connects directly to the battery, and two grounds (one of them is pictured). I connected both grounds in the same location on both sides of the truck. One at one fender, and the other on the other fender. Other than that, all you do is plug in the connectors and your ready to go. All in all, it is very straight forward and involves no splicing or modifying of anything at all. I would recommend industrial strength Velcro for placing the ballasts and what not so you don't have to drill for screws.

Well I think I may save my money up for the next group buy and wait on the Scanguage until Christmas. This does not seem to be as in debt as I originally thought.

And question for OP, what exactly is the difference between the regular and slim ballasts? Is it just a size thing, or is does it actually make a difference in something?

It is not only the size but the quality. The slim ballast is just more of a new design and better quality.

I guess you could say the regular ballast is like the original iphone and the slim ballast is like the new iphone 3gs lol.

I would say it is possible but I wouldn't know until I see the actual connections. I mean is it even a plug or did you just run wire from battery to the bulbs connections? It might be a job of "do at your own risk" lol. But I would like to see actual photos of the fog light and connections behind it. Also, what bulb size are they?

front of the drivers side and back of the passenger side. and also yes i did run all the wiring myself. i didn't take a picture of the battery connections because its not the only thing on there and its really confusing to look at but easy to understand from my diagram. also i have no idea what bulbs or if there even replaceable. also they are a shitty housing/reflector so i would rather use stock fogs that just clip in (i would buy them seprate). just to clairfy. I DO NOT have a stock toyota fog light system. no toyota fog light switches or wiring or lights. bought it all seprately and installed myself.

FOR FUTURE DIY'ers.. DONT BUY A SHITTY FOG LIGHT SYSTEM LIKE I DID. THEY DONT WORK AT ALL.

Yea I don't think those fogs would work with an HID conversion kit unfortunately. Sorry man but if you still want to try I would need to know the bulb size.

yeah i kinda figured but would i need the original stock wiring for the fogs if i wanted to install a hid kit into the stock toyota light housing that i would buy seprately? or can these systems work without the stock harnesses?
