Brightest, most like true sunlight at night should be the goal, or is it to have blue headlights like the street racers at high school?

When I asked Slim what was the BRIGHTEST (like daylight) temp. bulb, he said: "As for the daylight setup I would go 4300K."

The next choice up is 6000K, but that has a blue tint, and thus less brightness. Too bad they don't have a 5000K bulb... !??

i have a question. if you buy only low beams that means you no longer have high beams right? and how reliable are the telescopic hi/lo ones since its most likely a mechanical setup with a motor that moves the reflector around to change the beam, just curious as i want to keep the ability to have hi/lo beams but dont want some unreliable setup. i finally made up my mind on 6k heads and 3k fogs do you accept paypal? ill pm you with all the specifics later

Correct only low beams means you lose your high beams. The hi/low setup is just as reliable as any other bulb. Yes I do accept paypal just PM me your full name, mailing address, paypal email address and full order details. :)

Like humanoid said it's the same. Check the link on the first post for the write-up.

The '05s have only one know to adjust, your 1st gen has 2; one for up and down and another one for left and right.

    Hey Slim,

Question for you, maybe I'm reading it wrong or I'm missing something, but why are there 2 prices for the Telescopic (hi/low beam) Bixenon: H4, H13, 9004, 9007? One is listed at $104.95 and the other is $124.95. If you have already addressed this sorry for bringing it up again. Just wondering, and what is the 50w option?

    Thanks again

The $124.95 price is for the newer slim digital ballast and the $104.95 is for the older regular ballast. The 50w option is more for an offroad use only brightness. The 35w is plenty bright for daily driving. :)

Do these HID bulbs have the bezels (metal covers) on them to keep glare down?

Yeah they have a little guard to help other drivers not get blinded.

Correct. If you take a look at the photos in the link on the first post you can see a pair of H4 bulbs with their shields on.

I'll be your conscience and tell you that you don't want 8K nor the 10K lights because 1) it looks stupid and 2) you'll loose most of the visible light spectrum if you go too blue. You say "blue" and "bright", those two words never go together when talking about HIDs. But if you want to disobey your conscience then go ahead by all means.

hmmm... well even though my conscience says it looks stupid i kind of like it, it'd still be brighter than stock right?

I agree with humanoid. The 6k are still blueish when looking at the housing but project a bright white light with a light blue tint. Very bright compared to stock. As for the 8k and 10k I don't know if they would be brighter or not. I would assume they would a little but you are loosing a lot of the perpose of converting by going to high on the temperature. Just my .02 its totally up to you what you want and prefer. I want you to be happy with your purhcase. :)

If you do some research then you will find that the BRIGHTEST, most useful (to see at night) light color is between 4,000 and 5,000ºK. You will see colors at night with HIDs when the light spectrum is the same as sunlight. Halogens are 3,000º, which is better than the older, sealed beam headlights they replaced in the 1980's... which were pretty yellowish.
