^^ Hmm... well if everybody doesn't mind viewing a comparison of piaa vs. xenon i'll still do it... I think I have my stock bulbs lying around somewhere but thats a PITA. Let's see what people say if they want to see a comparison of the piaa's and then we can set a day for after work to take some pics, yea?

Yea if you wouldn't mind swappin them out I would be down to do the test any night this week. I am free once it gets dark since I cannot clean pools at night lol. I also am willing to meet you wherever is best for you since your helping me out. Maybe a dark area with a big wall to show the light output side by side and some distance along a wharehouse wall etc. I will PM you with my # if you want to set something up sooner. You can also email me on the email you have already.

    Thanks!

If you guys plan on doing a photo shoot.... something to keep in mind from the perspective of an amateur photographer. You cannot take pictures using a camera on fully automatic and present that to us as a meaningful comparison of light output. The camera will adjust it's aperture and shutter speed to compensate for a brighter or dimmer bulb. Be sure you set the camera manually to a fixed aperture and shutter speed and use the same settings as you switch between bulbs. It's the only way to make the pictures truly reflect the different in brightness between all your bulbs.

Same goes for color. If you want us to really see the color difference you'll have to shoot with a fixed white balance.

hey slim i got one more question. Im still thinkin on getting your bixenon kit with the slim ballist. but i want to know how blue is the 8000k, and how bright will it be if i get the 50 watt option? I would like the light to be a mid blue, not to deep and not to light. and i want my lights to be fairly bright. If you can suggest some options for me that would be great. thanks. oh and how long is the wait for the kits?

I have a digital camera made by Kodak not sure if that is good enough... but I think it will have to do. I don't want to go out and buy a camera just for a couple pictures lol. And since they are camera pictures they will just be for reference to see the difference they might not be to scale on color or brightness but it will show the difference between the two at least.

Does anyone run the 50 watt bulbs as their normal headlights? If properly aimed is this considered dangerous or hazerdous in any way? We have a lot of dark back roads out by me. Are the 50 watters considered too bright for in city driving?

Click on the link in the first post it shows all the bulbs lit up.. those bulbs are 35w that are pictured. I have not been able to test the 50w in higher temps like 8000K + to see how much brighter the 50w option compensates for the color temp. I wish I could be of more help on that but if you want brightness and still slight blue I would go with the 6000K. They are still very bright and have a slight blue to them. I hope this helps if you have any other questions let me know.

And the wait time for the kits is as follows:
GB ends on the 31st and the order will be placed that day.
Takes 2-5 business days for me to get them from supplier.
I ship out same day and takes 2-3 business days to get to you guys.
(Give or take a couple days due to any unexpected delays with delivery.)

So for all of you guys be sure to get your orders in well before the 31st so that nothing is held up.

    Thanks!!
    ~Slim

If aimed correctly you should be fine. They will not cause any damage to your headlight etc. They are for a more off road use but some use them for every day normal city driving with no problems.

I'd be interested to see a comparison pic of the 50 watters to stock lights if possible. I'd be looking at the 4000k color range.

I will only have a comparison picture of my trucks setup vs. halogen. I don't have extra kits to install to show other colors etc. I am running 6000k for both headlights and fogs.

^ 4300k will be the brightest and white not really any blue... if you want a little blue then go 6000k still very bright but has the blue tint. Also I am not sure on the older models if they are the same bulb size or not but just find out what size you are and then PM me your order.

    Thanks!

95.5-97 had the composite headlights meaning they had to change out the whole thing. IIRC, the number was H6054, and they couldn't use HIDs as headlights. 98-04 started using the H4 bulbs as do the current gen Tacos.
