I had no idea about remote start with the fob...crazy cool!!

 

Mine turns $$ into exhaust fumes

 

Scary. I mean if YOU can remote start the thing you can bet your last dollar that some 14 year old with a laptop
and half a brain can figure it out too....

 

After it starts when you grab a door handle it dies. Maybe a built in safety feature?

 

Glad the SR5 doesn't have remote start. I'd probably butt-start it like I butt-dial my kids and not even know it.
I don't need no remote start anyway.

 

You know about your pitch and roll features rite? When in 4l your head unit screen comes to life with all cameras giving you a 360 veiw around your truck.

 

Isnt that specific to a certain year range of truck?

 

I wish I could remotely roll the windows down. It's an amazing thing on a hot summer day and something my Honda's had. When I was walking towards my car I'd roll all the windows down and exhaust all the crazy hot summer air so when I got to the car I didn't feel I was stepping into an oven.

 

Trd-Troll as far as I know 2021 it starts.

 

Tacoma remote start is whack. All my other cars with remote start let me open the door without shutting off. I find it odd that Toyota turns the engine off the second you get in. They could have made it to where you can get into the truck and it not turn off. And not GO anywhere until you press the start button, which will need the keyfob close in order for you to pull away. I really dont think I will buy another Toyota again. Cool little truck. But man it has some very strange rules and quirks.

 

Thats very true. This is my 1st "modern" truck. I had an 03 Taurus wagon with the Jaguar V6 and creature comforts like 6 spkr, 6 cd am/fm, cassette stereo player to this 2020 trd 4x4 access cab( 1of 128 in the US). I'm learning new stuff everyday. I drove to Las Vegas from the central valley to get it.

And I prefer the app more for remote start, it seems more reliable than hoping I pressed the fob buttons correctly while not knowing if the truck started or not.

 

I think they all have the tilt sensors, but only the 360 camera comes on premium package, maybe advanced tech gets that too? OR with just standard tech package doesn't have the 360.

 

My 19 OR w/Tech has roll sensors but jot 360 cameras.

 

The pitch and roll screen should be is the gauge cluster on yours, it is on my 2017.

 

VW too, miss that.

I have that function. Its just the 360 I think that didn't come out until the 2020+ models

 

The advanced tech package starting in 2020 has the 360 cameras, the limited is 360 "Bird's-eye view" only. The OR and PRO have "multi-terrain monitor" that is both 360 like the limited, but also an off-road mode in 4L. In addition to pitch and roll, it has overlays for tire path and a diagram of which tire is slipping. It also has a feature that gives the illusion of an underbody camera. Not nearly as nice as the Jeep system, but functional.

Edit: Oh and hidden feature, you can change the color of the 360 on screen truck in the head-unit service menu.

 

My 2018 Camry I had the dealer program the key fob, when long pressing the unlock button all windows roll down and the sunroof opens. Anyone know if we can do that on the Tacoma?
