Im looking for a stand alone, small, hidden GPS tracker that function off cellular service and not plug into the OBD port. I want to be able to receive live data as the vehicle is driven.

What do you have, used, and recommend?

    TIA

Depends. Is the person we're stalking an iPhone or an Android user?

    Too much to list
I use an AirTag. Not perfect but it gets the job done, has long battery life, is small and cheap.

    Lol.

Some crackhead tried stealing my truck last week but couldn't due to the kill switch. Beside the broken igniting lock cylinder and door lock, my prize possession still sits on my driveway instead of missing forever.

Now, I want to be able to track its movement and ml not make it obvious.

    Details on the kill switch?

Where is it mounted? Which wire? etc. etc.

I'm looking to add one as soon as my truck arrives and would love the help.

I placed a push button off/on switch for the fuel pump and made sure it's not within the immediate reach of the driver. I think this made it more complex for me but harder for the person trying to steal it as they will assume it's close by.

LandAirSea 54. I’ve been using it for about a year and am happy with it. The app is a little clunky but the location points are pretty damn accurate on the map, at least in my experience.

It’s battery powered but you can buy a hardwire cable for it.

Subscription required like virtually all cellular+gps tracking systems

They'll actually go and get the car back for you along with law enforcement lol I know someone who had his SUV back in hours, vehicle was headed out of province.

Maybe there's something similar in the US?

I have an Apple airtag on my vehicle, with speaker removed. If the would be thief has an iPhone he would be alerted to the airtag but would not be able to hear it chirp making it harder for him to locate. Not perfect but if the thief does have an iPhone, the airtag would report movement back to my iPhone through the thief’s iPhone.

For me, the Pocketfinder vehicle GPS tracker works best. It provides real-time tracking with updates every 60 seconds and has a battery life of up to 2.5 weeks. The device costs about $99, and the service plan starts at $15 a month. So it’s great for vehicles without that option or if you want to keep it discreet. It’s reliable and has never let me down.

Device is ~$125, service is $25for the entire year. Also includes a relay output that you can activate from the app. (Remote kill switch)

They are built for the "buy here, pay here" car lots. So you can disable the car if they stop paying...

Cheap, and easy. You just need to give it 12v, it has an internal battery and will alert you if it loses it's external power (someone cuts the battery cables)
