Rockford fosgate 8" shallow mount. 2.66" mounting depth, its a small sub and a small box, but it sounds pretty good, definitely a step up from a powered sub stuck under the drivers seat. Probably isnt as loud as the "armrest" style boxes some guys build for access cabs which can fit 10's and have 3-4 times the airspace. I think theres some more pics in my build, if you end up doing it let me know if you have questions. I would be happy to help if i can.

How do you like the single 8”? I’m thinking of doing something similar with the storage compartment on my 08. I’m debating on one or two at the moment

I will post pics later from my 2014. I used a 0.23 cu knock down speaker box $25 and 8” tang band subwoofer from parts-express for $60 on sale - half filled with poly. Fits perfectly sideways between the fold down seats, fronts facing forward, speaker cut in the side down firing, with 1.5” rubber feet for the excursion and seat belts. 1/4 volume on my bass knob great for classic rock - 1/2 for bass heavy dance/wrap - goes down to upper 20’s. Beats the 10” Dayton HF or JL I had in my 98 Tacoma. You can pull it out or move it as needed.

I’ve pulled out the black back console and revising a new box slightly larger. I’ve always hated the rear console as hinders sliding items in like a bag of golf
clubs. The 2009 has the best design without the console.

I have the w8-740P but for $8 more would gonwith the neo version.

I like it but I'm thinking about taking my rear seat out completely. Got a mole panel on it's way.

Yes - an 8” in a properly sized cabinet, mine is sealed, sounds wonderfull. Mine is more sound quality oriented, not overly bass heavy, it ‘s a truck not a disco.

You could add a disco ball n strobes in the box.

The mole rack the guy makes for the dc’s is super nice. At times I wish I had a dc for the bigger rear seat and storage but prefer the longer bed. The dclb, like many, wouldn’t fit in my garage - compromises

As I said I recently pulled the center console out. It sat on top and stayed in place. That box was a temp solution I've been using for almost four years - don't fix what ain't broke, but need to class it up.
