doesn't constant abuse eventually skew the alignment?

the warden does this but I don't care, its her truck and she let me get my 4runner. so I care even less now :)

What is so hard about turning the steering wheel? See it all the time, people can't even turn into a road without cutting the corner. Lazy, use you eyes and arms, not feel by running into shit. Ultimite fail.

I'm sure she is a lot warmer and friendlier than a Tacoma so chose your words wisely!

My wife has killed her car over the years beating it off every pot hole in the road, smacking curbs, ect. Yesterday she hit a pot hole so hard she smashed her rim.

I make her pay for the damages to her car. And I refuse to work on it.

I make the living money, house payment, my truck, food, kids clothes, ect ect.

She works 2 days a week as a home health nurse. She spends "her" money as she wants. So damage to her car comes from her money, not our joint checking.

Goes back to the old saying when you get married..

"what is yours is hers, and whats hers is hers" But then again it works because I don't get mad when she blows 200 dollars on a new rim and 100 on a new tire for her car. She made the payments on it too. So oh well.

Yes it can very easily knock the truck out of alignment in the rear as well as do internal damage to the tires which could cause a blowout at highway speeds. I would add this. Comparing your wife to a hooker would suggest some marriage counseling might be a wise decision.

Go to a local repair shop.

Give the owner a $20 to have him write up a bogus bill that goes into the thousands for wheel and suspension repairs.

Present it to her and tell her the money is coming out of savings.

Take it out and stash it.

Loose the truck for a few days.

    Then

Work with her to change her poor driving ways and if and when she does, take her away to a nice place for a weekend getaway with some of the money and save the rest in the rafters in case she reverts and you actually have to do repairs.

Yes, it's evil, but it may actually work.

OP I wouldn't think it would hurt the rear end short term. I do think repetitive abuse will lead to problems in the long run. Have you discussed this curbing issue with your wife? Maybe give her some tips on how not to curb, how to swing it wide.

Naaah, just thinking out of the box and planning ahead, just in case I face the same fate.

I've seen sidewalls so worn down from curb rubbing that the nylon was showing. No excuse for this. It only takes a few times to understand where the boundaries of the vehicle are.

Fortunately, my wife understands not hitting the curbs (most of the time). What she doesn't get is fuel economy. I drive normally and can pull the occasional 20+ mpg out of a tank. If I let her drive my truck just ONE DAY, my next fuel up is in the 15 mpg range. When I broach the subject, she is unapologetic, not that I blame her. Switching from driving a hybrid to a torquey V6, the foot planting is a little addictive.

Yes in fact hitting curbs around bends can and will cause more then just curb rash on the rim and sliced sidewalls Being a mechanic and tow truck driver for roughly 20 years I've seen some serious damage come from doing this. People think just because it's a 4wd truck it's invincible but these new trucks can't take the hits like the old trucks from the 1960's-80's. I've seen bent axle housings, a right side axle get pulled out of the axle housing, busted suspension parts, bent rims, busted belts in the tires, sheared leafspring u-bolts, etc... You be surprised at what a hit like these can do to newer trucks.
