I got this $10 cover for my radio but it doesn't fit without removing the trim piece surrounding the radio. If i remove the trim piece it looks bad having the gap around the radio, even with the cover in there is still a gap. Considering cutting it down to the inner dimension of the cover flat. Wanted to see if anyone had other ideas before i cut.

I would hack it with a dremel so you can get it to sit higher. See if you can get the top to seat flush against the stereo trim like it does with the trim bezel removed.

Notch it so it will sit against the bezel.

I like that idea but the length is too long to fit inside as well so it might be hard to keep it stuck in

I've cut down the cover, I'd like to bend it so that it shapes to the trim. Tried leaving it in the sun for the afternoon but didnt warm up enough20190802_184846.jpg 20190802_184842.jpg

Can I ask why you are trying to hide it?

Also, as an answer, In order to bend it, you need to remove plastic. Along the right and left side, I’d cut small notches in the plastic. Like tiny triangles. Then! Use a heat gun gently along the edges and middle to bend it.

That’s a good idea, I’m going to try it. This is a very expensive head unit

The more expensive you think it is, the more likely people are going to try to steal it. If you think in your mind that it’s junk, no one will want it. Trust me.
