i heard it voids any kind of warranty on the headlights. my buddy tried to take his truck in cuz the headlights were oxidizing, and they told him it was because had 55watt HID's in there that burn a hell of a lot hotter than stock. kinda sucks but arguing with the stealership is like :deadhorse:

i completely agree it is possible. just sucks anyways. then again HID's are intended for glass projectors so, unless u do a retrofit(for first gens) or buy some projectors, ur kinda SOL. what kelvin do u have?

If the aftermarket part caused the failure, they will not warranty the damage (with pretty much everything).

You could put some Osram 70/65W bulbs in there (1300/2000 lumens) instead of blinding everyone else on the road. :)

I've heard that the 55w HID's get too hot and cause damage to the lens and/or housing...

Not unless it is the direct cause of a problem that would otherwise be covered

The lenses and housings can take a bit of heat, 55w is fine
