I just did the plug and play. I've never heard of anyone actually having this problem.

Yes you can do it without the harness. But, if you buy a bi-xenon kit, im sure it comes with a harness. If you do not buy a bi-xenon kit, you will NOT have highbeams.

Oh. I didn't know that. I bought the bi-xenon, so I guess mine came with the harness. I got 4 ballasts and another box that the headlights plugged in to, so that must have been the harness. I just bought the kit they sold and installed it, and I'm happy with the results.

IMO I think a 50 watt kit would be overkill. To the person asking if they would need a relay harness for both lows and fogs, the answer is yes. Sure, you can run them without, but for 15 bucks(or cheaper if you have the ability to make your own) it's cheap insurance and stupid to not run one. Under normal operation they're fine since 35 watts is less than standard lights use, however when the ballasts initially fire up, they draw alot of power. So much in fact that in my SS, it would make my Avic D3 shut off when the ballasts would first fire up because it was causing a voltage sag. I had to wire in a capacitor from Radioshack onto my D3 harness so it wouldn't happen. Personally, I wouldn't want that voltage pull going through my stock wiring.

As for getting a 10k kit as suggested, I'd avoid that if you actually want functionality from your lights, IMO 10k looks really annoying and you're missing out on the added visibility which for me was the main reason I added HID's to my Impala. I'd stick between 4300k and 6000k.

I think you have to pay extra for the harnesses from them. I haven't heard any bad things about kits from them yet. A few people over on the Impala forums have used them.

As far is it being a cheap kit, most of these kits regardless of who they're from use the same cheap Chinese made ballasts, including the kit I have from a different company, and I've had no problem with it in the year and a half it's been in my SS. If they offer a good warranty I would go on that, no point in spending more money for essentially the same thing. Unless their kits are put together with a brand name ballast like Philips or Bosch. Neither of those companies make complete HID kits for retail sale, but alot of places will sell kits that are made using ballasts from them. Definitely a more quality ballast, however you will pay for it. IMO, I'd rather take my chance with a cheap kit. Even if it goes it's still cheaper to buy another one. And if you have a lifetime warranty you're good regardless.

What color temperature are you going to go with?

Good choice. I'd never go higher than that myself because to me the more blue they are the more annoying and cheap they look. Not to mention the light output starts to really drop off then and those kits that are really blue/purplish fatigue your eyes after driving for awhile. I have a 5000k kit myself and I've been happy with it.

Don't get 55w for the fogs, stick with 35w for the fogs as recommended. These kits are very, very easy to install so I don't know why people are making it seem like it's hard, took me about 15 mins & it was my first HID install.
