What is everyone's opinion on HIDs in a tacoma. A truck sits up higher than a car so I realize that at night it is kind of annoying for cars that you get behind, but I was still thinking about installing some anyways. What do you think?

In a proper projector retrofit the results are fantastic. In a pnp install without a projector it's not a good idea. If you don't want to shell out for a retro people seem to be having good results with a LED kit.

DO NOT put an HID kit in your stock headlights. It's blinding to other drivers and has terrible output. If you want HIDs, do it correctly and do a projector retrofit.
