That was before I had my clutch and transmission fixed. Had lots of noises, apparently NOT gear noise.

I had a input shaft bearing go bad and was fixed 2 days ago apparently the input shaft bearing and the pilot bearing both went out

One doesn't really know 100 percent until the clutch area is opened up to see whats going on, I had no idea my pilot bearing was bad too, its up and running and I have zero gear noise now AFTER getting everything fixed

Ok I gotcha. Just sounded like you were trying to show off your truck hasn't had this issue after running 500k miles. Glad you cleared that up for us.

Seems like a job most DIYers on here could do? Thinking to just take mine to a shop. Don't have a press.

No, I have had zero problems with my transmission 583,000 miles till now,
Besides replacing the stick shift bushing.
Then had all these noises coming from the clutch area.
Maybe because the input shaft bearing failed it caused the pilot bearing to fail.
Not sure but the pilot bearing was replaced 95,000 miles ago so didn’t have that many miles on it.
    Dealer did the all repairs.
I had MT -90 Redline oil put back in.
    Transmission is quiet now.

Okay. That’s pretty good. Interesting why everyone else seems to get it at about 120-150k miles. My truck has had it since I got it at 128k. The whining is incredibly annoying but for a 20 year old pickup I think it’ll be alright. No trying to do a crap ton of work so I could do the same exact thing w the truck..drive it! Gonna have to look up issues with that shifter bushing. What are the symptoms of it going out?
