Did you have to use a part of the original stock boot (like the 930 style) with the new boots or were they a direct fit?

Your welcome, glad we can be civil.
I will admit I get on the testy side when someone comes on and says a process (BSM) I developed and refined over the years on TTORA does not work when it has been proven over and over.
IIRC a few years ago we talked and you were now having trouble with ripping in the "valleys" that looked to be a result of tension, not the fins rubbing. I think I suggested that "more is not better" and really the boot only needs to be slid 1/4"-3/8" to prevent fin rub. With the early "glue only" method the boot had to be slid farther to clear the groove or there was a tendency for clamp pressure to force the boot back down into the groove. That is one of the benefits of using an "internal stop". The width of the stop can be tailored to achieve minimum tension on the boot while still keeping the fins apart even if the boot straddles the edge of the groove.
The c-clip+rubber seems to work for most. You could certainly try less (cut down the rubber ring), or heck try the Empi boot. If you go back in one of the TTORA threads you will find yourself chatting with a fellow doing the BS with an Empi boot he picked up for $10 at his local parts house.
The greater the lift the more the boot is stretched. The advertised lift from any given spring/shock combo can vary by an inch with different trucks, engins and models. Wider track width plays as much a part in calming high lift springs as the weight of armor.

As far as the outers, the Empi boots are soft like the inners not hard like OEM outers. That might be a good thing for your case. Most don't have issues, one of my outers is still original at 240K.

Lube? Like any oil/lube discussion, opinions will vary. Many EP moly fortified greases will actually say "recommended for CV joints", that's what I use if I don't have the Toyota pouches.

    Keep at it.

Thanks, I'll get at it this weekend and make some tweaks. I'll be replacing the inners and outers on both if I have time, but I really just need to get the DS done since the outer is torn and the patch ain't holding up.

After receiving the parts and matching the mold numbers, the boots are in fact stock replacements and are EMPI brand. Now to get to work..
