High beams work, low beams don't. Ground wire next to battery?

    Hi,
Just bought a 2000 Tacoma and noticed today that the low beams don't work. Bulbs are fine, they just aren't getting voltage from the connectors when low is selected( I checked continuity and voltage with a multimeter). Fuses are all good and high and low beam share a fused circuit meaning a fuse couldn't be the culprit.

I was looking at this schematic ( http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/64888844.jpg ) and it looks like the switch on the blinker stick might just be the problem, which would suck.

Either way I'm going to talk to the dealership I bought it from tomorrow and see if they can do anything about it. With the number of as-is clauses I felt like I signed though I would feel lucky if they actually helped.

Also the ground that connects (or should connect) the battery directly to the chassis has come undone. The negative leads off elsewhere so I figured it was probably just grounded somewhere else and wouldn't matter. I don't think it pertains to my headlight problem because the high beams work.

And it came without coolant, damnit.

Anyways yeah, tell me what y'all think.

have you checked to see if both bulbs have their low beam elements? It has happened where both low beam parts of the light go out together and only the high beam works. Does the high beam indicator light illuminate when the lights are turned on?

On a second note, you should put that ground back on and check all the other grounds. When they get unplugged strange things happen.
