So I have had my 2015 DCLB (its 100% stock) for about 6 months now and love it. I recently just bought a house and the driveway I have is fairly steep (road is approx. 6-8' higher than the slab level of my garage.)
Didn't think is was much of an issue as my truck has fairly good clearance. When I was moving in a friend of mine commented how close I was to high centering the truck when driving backing into the driveway. the bed was fully loaded and didn't hear or feel it scratch. Unloaded the truck and drove out didn't rub to my knowledge, but in the last week if I don't hit the driveway PERFECTLY straight I rub. Not bad but to the point of where I don't want to damage my undercarriage so I have been parking on the street.
The issue is is the steep driveway ends at a flat sidewalk and then the sidewalk drops a couple of inches down to the road level. therefore at that perfect"sweet spot" I am high centering, if i hit it just right i clear it by maybe an 1" if I am lucky.... but if I come in at an angle i am going to rub.
The question I have is I know if I lift the truck i will clear, but when my truck was fully loaded when I was moving in I cleared as well, not sure if its because the back end was lower (to my logic making me think I would have more easily high centered and rubs the whole way under the box) or if I just was extra careful to come in straight so it would be easier to unpack.
But if I were to get a leveling kit would that help? I would think it would make it worse wouldn't it?

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Where is it scraping the driveway on the truck? Pics would help.
Mostly the only thing that scrapes is the mud flaps.

Air bags or AAL will keep the back end from sagging and lessen the possibility of high-centering when loaded.

He is probably hitting the transmission crossmember or the exhaust that hangs down below it. OP - sounds like a great excuse to put a lift on your truck !

Have someone watch you going in and out. Willing to bet its just the mudflaps. It doesn't take much to scrape them.

    Nope.

I pay someone to do those things.

41k miles so far since Labor Day weekend 2013 when I bought it new.

I have a full time and part time job and am part owner of a successful small business going on it's 28th year.

I have a 5 month old daughter and a fiancée, and a house we bought last December.

And a 5 year old dog who had $3k worth of knee surgery and needed constant attention for 3 months - that was 4 1/2 months ago.

What part of the world do you live man?

Way off topic but with the drive steep (a guess if you're dragging) and the road is 8 FEET higher than your garage...how is your drainage managed? Seems it could result in a wet garage...or maybe it's a covered parking spot...???

A man needs an escape sometimes.

Or maybe a lot of times.

I don't FB, it's for women. TW is my only forum/social media other than IG.
