I’ve got some learning to do, but who doesn’t make mistakes now and then?

Whilst off-roading at Prairie City yesterday, I took on a hill I should’ve known better than trying. The ground gave way slightly (not that I’d have made it anyway) and just like that I was stuck!

I tried working myself free but it was futile; an old Cherokee tried towing me out, but we broke his strap in the process. Before long, a couple of old, modified Wranglers came up and tried winching me out. No way, José. Drat.

After regrouping, one Wrangler and one handmade kit truck each tied on to my rear end and, together, got me out.

I certainly learned a few lessons yesterday! I’m glad I got stuck in the park, and not out in the sticks somewhere far from others. I’ll pick up some basic recovery gear and actually carry it around with me, and I’ll be more realistic about the break over angle of a long-bed pickup truck. Not a Willys Jeep, this. Anyway, enjoy and laugh at me, but try not to mock me too badly. I’m new round here. :bananadead:4CB53EAD-6891-4D7B-B828-4EE997012587.jpg896AA1B9-AD3C-4D97-9867-16C0E1C36196.jpg

Well, that’s an appropriate place to learn these lessons. It shows a certain level of self esteem to post mistakes for others to judge. I think you’ll do fine around here.

Way to own it. Nothing broken, nobody hurt, had some fun and learned some things. Sounds like a good time to me. Welcome to the forums.

Stockton’s in the house!! The best way to figure stuff out is to get out there and try not to get stuck. Sometimes it works out better than others. :mudding:
