Cleaned my throttle body today along with spark plug change. Before I performed this maintenance truck seemed to running fine, with warmed up idle around 750-800rpms. Performed said maintenance and cold, will idle 2000 rpm's, settling down to 1100 rpm when warm.

I did do a thorough job of cleaning the TB; I took it off completely and cleaned both sides of butterfly flap. Thoughts?

I had the same problem, make sure the butterfly valve is closing all the way, truck was fine after I took it off and flapped it a couple times and wiped it again

Mine idled high right after I did it, but it settled down after a couple days.

Unplug batery, make a sandvitch, take a shit, shower and shave , and the hook battery back up. It supposedly allows a "ECU Reset" that forces a recalibration of the MAF and deletes old data that causes algorithm update hysteresis.

 Reset the battery and give it a few days for the computer to re-learn the change. It will be fine.

yes. I would recommend taking the TB completely off so you can thoroughly clean both sides.

Update, I unplugged battery for 30 minutes, and after one trip to walmart my idle was fine again. Thanks guys.

I know that this is an old thread, but I like to use the search.

I just cleaned out the throttle body on my 2000 2.7l and now I am getting high idle RPMs. Will unhooking the battery like mentioned work for this truck as well, or this specific to the 3.4l.

When I cleaned out the TB, I did remove it as well as the IAC to prevent junk from getting in there.
