    I wouldn't be too concerned honestly. If you want to hear something concerning cold start a 2ar-fe (Camry or RAV4). People have put tons of miles on those engines though without a hiccup.

    The older 2gr likes to rattle on start up, it's the stupid VVTI controllers.

    The biggest reason for high idle is the catalyst system, toyota really likes high temps for emissions.

    That said, I remote start my pig in the morning for about 7 minutes while I get ready for work and it idles just a tad under 1k when I back out at -20.
