You'll need a rivet gun to install the brackets - either borrow one, or you can get a reasonably priced one, something like this - https://smile.amazon.com/Profession...14?keywords=rivet+guns&qid=1577805240&sr=8-14

We recommend an angled rivet gun, rather than a straight one, for easier access to fender bracket rivets. But both types should work.

Someone asked to see photos of the struts and brackets, so here are a couple :).

Shipping cost to Canada is a little steep, and unfortunately slow (typically close to 10 to 14 days, rather 2-3 across the USA).

And I had the same two impressions when opening the 3rd Gen hood for the first time - seriously?? :D

Oh yeah. It's just the hood digging into the scalp. Nothing serious.

Is it my eyes playing tricks on me, or do the struts look slightly bent when the hood is open?

I'm just charging my cost for the shipping, so I'm able to do better than that price :).

No, they're straight, it's actually almost impossible to bend them even if you try.

sorry, no :). My point was that it's nearly impossible to put any kind of a bending load into them, given the spherical end fittings.

Question on rivet gun to get. Are the rivets 3/16 stainless steel? Most of the rivet guns in the $20 category state not for 3/16 stainless rivets.

The one you linked to, will it handle stainless steel rivets? Or should I look for a better grade gun? Thanks

Good question - the 3/16" rivets we supply are aluminum body and steel mandrel. They are not nearly as difficult to pop as stainless, so you should be fine with almost any rivet gun. But if you want to get a gun for future uses as well, then a heavier duty gun may make sense.

It’s one of those tools that you don’t think you’ll use until you get one. I’ve used mine way more then I ever thought I would.

I was looking at a straight heavy duty one from harbor freight.

wasn’t sure if there would be an issue using it in the bottom bracket installation?

My laziness helps once again. I've had some Redline struts sitting in my room for months. I'd rather have the additional clearance.

Thank you for the order! Best gifts are often the ones you get for yourself

Definitely, it's a handy tool to have for when you need it!

My guess is you'll be able to make it work - worst case scenario is you'll need to angle the rivet gun a bit to clear the hood, or raise the hood a little higher temporarily while riveting the fender brackets. Here is Timmy using a straight rivet gun for the 1st Gen Taco kit:
