The 270 amps I calculated would be with and additional amp for the door speakers. I am aware the amps cannot draw more than the 80 amps or the fuse would blow. I plan to add an additional 2000 watts to my system. I am currently at 1000 watts rms so that would be a 200% increase, so if we base it off that I would be drawing around 480 amps at a full load. Of course I would not be running the system at full load all the time, as the subwoofers are not constantly playing and I don't have the music blasting 24/7. Next time you go to try to correct someone, read their entire post first as I had said in my original post I wanted to increase the amount of power I had.

Heck, at this point go all in and install a welder's generator in the bed. That should give you more than enough juice.

I don't think a voltage booster works on the 3rd gen, since voltage from the Alt is controlled by the ECU. So I think a tune is the only route. I too have an AGM and my current tune sets the charging voltage to 14.5v.

I'm not a fan of the aftermarket hot rodded units as they don't seem to have the longevity required. With that said, the large body Denso SC Alternator will bolt in place of the small body 130 amp unit Toyota places on the Tacoma. That should be the part you have built for the 270 amp requirements. Some Sienna Vans and Lexus RX crossovers use a 180 amp version. This thread will have some of the part numbers and show the differences. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/factory-denso-180-amp-alternator-upgrade.598940/

Hello. I'm an RF nerd by inclination and former profession. Grounding is huge for RF as is induced interference from other devices on the power circuit.

If isolating the power circuit for your radio (put it on its own dedicated runs) doesn't fix the problem, consider beefing your grounds and also ferrite chokes for the +12v leg.

A modular Big 3 kit will make doing so simple.

I remember watching your thread on bigger alternators a while back. Was there a follow up on the changes need to be done to get the 180A 27060-0P420 to PnP Bolt-on? It is 7 ribbed, so no need for a pulley swap, and bolts straight on, if I recall correctly. Just something about the mounting bosses and the angle of the connector?

Don't have any alt suggestions, but..

Those rockford subs are only rated for 200w rms and if the amp is actually putting out over 100w RMS more than its rated for (250w -> 370w), almost double the subs rated power...they probably won't last too long at full tilt. The scars on the other hand would handle extra power better but I wouldn't trust those rockfords. Why not get beefier subs for behind the rear seats? I have a single 10" I feed close to 700w rms to behind the rear seat.

Also, do you know the cu. ft on that box with the 3 skars? Is tuned to a good freq for them?

It's amazing how those of us truly suffering with these ailments look back at these situations. I so often think "how fuckin' dumb that is" as I sit here with a screaming "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" in my left ear that drives the brain crazy at time and will never ever get better or go away for the rest of my life. OP, there are a host of aspects of hearing loss that an "aid" can not ever fix. Once it's gone, it's gone.

I am planning on getting beefier subs for the rear seats. Ideally some Rockford T1 shallow 12s. Those are pricy tho.

I do not know the cu. ft, although I could measure it. I just built the box as big as possible to get as much volume as possible as I knew I would be near the recommended volume. The subs sound best around 45 Hz, they hit the lows suprisingly well.

Those do not work for gen 3 Tacomas. If you look at their page, they only sell products for up to 2015 model Tacomas.

It is not only permanent and irreversible, it is cumulative. It doesn't get better over time. It gets WORSE. I repair/fit hearing aids. I'm seeing people in their 20's with hearing loss we normally didn't see till people were in their 60s. Once the tiny hairs in the cochlea that pick up different frequencies are broken, they don't regrow...that's IT.

There is some progress in this area pertaining to how birds (and fish, apparently) can regen hair growth cells, specifically in the inner ear of birds, after damage. The mechanism is well understood and there are promising advancements in this area with mammals. However, relying/expecting this to be an option for hearing loss treatment in the near future (or ever) is foolish and abusing your hearing without being ignorant to the risks is just plain stupid.
