    Hi everyone,

I was looking at the toyota website and saw that they have a high performance fog light option I believe for around 140.00.

Does anyone have this upgrade? A
I am wondering between led headlight set up comes with led fog lights so was just wondering if the higher performance ones for the extra 140 or so were worth it.

    Thanks

100% recommend the Diode dynamics SAE pro in amber. They are actually brighter than my stock high beams.

these are really neat my buddy just installed them in his non LED OR.
2 minute install from the engine bay.
    Plug and play.
just turn fogs on and off to change colors.
(Edit:I was thinking of the new tri color led fog replacements from Cali Raised for 149.99)

I second the Diode Dynamics. They are the best period and have an excellent design. Plus they are tested tried and true

If your fog lights are lighting signs they are blinding oncoming traffic. Your headlights are suppose to that.

Understands what a fog light is, and recommends the absolute best highest performing option on the market backed by science:

Fails to understand what a foglight is and recommends illegal poor quality Chinese products that dangerously blind other drivers and do not serve the purpose of a fog light and will be ineffective for the purpose the light was designed for:

OP, the first group are those you should listen to. Specifically check out the linked SAE thread and the Diode Dynamics SS3 review, you won't be disappointed.

Doesn't understand that Americans source their products from China meaning the Americans made the cheap product. Sick of people saying Chinese make crap.

Go back to the 2nd gen forum.

LOL! Apparently the point went over your head. The Diode Dynamics SS3s are an actual SAE product that have a real engineered fog beam pattern developed by actual lighting engineers to meet strict SAE standards. CaliRaised is rebranded China product with no SAE engineered beam pattern, and definitely not a 'fog beam' pattern in the slightest. They are well recognized for being low quality. Perhaps you should read the thread that covers patterns in detail, including the CaliRaised product:

Fog lights are used for aesthetic purposes just as much, if not more, than for function these days so chill out.

Fair point. But I will stamp out false info.

The purpose of a fog is to illuminate the roadway shoulder.

    CaliRaised 'fogs':

    Low performance Rigid Pro fogs:

Diode Dynamics fogs are 2.5x the output of the OEM Rigid Pro fogs pictured above and the highest performing on the market in the same SAE fog pattern. Attempting to tell members to buy CaliRaised 'fogs' and that they are the same as an SAE fog like Diode Dynamics is exceptionally misleading to those that do not know better and demonstrates a lack of understanding of the pattern.

The purpose of a fog light is to diminish the refractive light that occurs when light hits a water droplet from rain or fog and that is why fog lights are amber and not white like a headlight or driving light which is what come standard in your lower bumper. Has nothing to do with light pattern or where the beam is thrown. You can choose the SAE pattern which has a cut off line similar to your headlights or you can choose a multitude of off road patterns with no cut off and really light things up. I have the Baja Designs Squadron Sport fog pods which are not SAE but then I only use them off roading or when traveling dark roads. Just do your research OP and when it comes to lighting remeber you get what you pay for. 20181003_192744.jpg 20181002_172246.jpg

    No..

fog lights shouldn’t be used for aesthetic purposes. If you have that mentality then you’re most likely blinding oncoming traffic with non sae spot pods or something. It’s important to have the correct beam pattern.

i like the cali company and use their products but they should be used in the correct capacity.
