Good morning everyone! I am experiencing a high pitch noise that starts around 30mph. Does not change with speed or changing direction. 2” lift and 32’s. The rest is stock. Possible wheel bearing? Tapping the brakes does not change it either.

Mine stopped immediately after the divorce.

    Ok thats not helpful
It would have to be a constant that doesnt change like the what you said, the wheel bearing. Have you isolated it to the front/back, left/right, center? How many miles on the truck.

lol, thanks for the reply. The old girl has 193k. It is difficult to isolate where it is coming from riding in the truck. It sounds like a brake wear indicator but the rears were just done and the fronts are still good. And it does not stop when pressing the brakes.

    To be clear...
    1) Does the pitch change note or its just on/off?
    2) with engine rpm or vehicle speed?
    3) any idea of isolated area?

There is no change in the pitch. It starts after the truck is moving, close to 30mph, and continues. Best I can tell, it’s from under the truck. I know this is vague and not really helpful. I am mechanically inclined and do all my own work. I am planning to do some exploratory surgery to see what I can find. Just wasn’t sure if this was definitive of a wheel bearing.

Wheel bearings or drive shafts usually change with speed of the car. Wheel bearings often change intensity or even go away on a corner as the load varies. Alot of times you can lift a wheel and spin it. If bad enough it'll make a gravelly grinding sound. Wheel bearings won't vary with engine rpm like an engine belt squeel.

Well here is the update, a very tiny piece of rock was stuck between my brake pad and rotor. The pads were thick so initially I didn’t think that was the issue. Thanks for the input 1 Limited Toyota!
