My Tacoma makes a single high pitched electronic beep...like the sound a microwave makes when its done cooking...EVERY HOUR at EXACTLY five past the hour. (Heard inside the cabin only when vehicle is running)

At first I thought it was the radio but it does it even when the radio is turned off.

    Anyone else??????????????

Your Hungry Man dinner is done. Open the glove box. Be sure to use mitts.

It's really weird. Five past the hour every hour. Guaranteed.

I started noticing the beep a few weeks ago and finally pinpointed it to five past the hour every hour.

Some one is trolling you. Maybe a passenger dropped a cheap casio watch in your truck awhile back.

Search the cab, be very detailed and thorough.

Never occured to me it could be a watch or something other than the truck making the beep. Seemed to be coming from the dash area.

    I'll do a search tomorrow.

    Thanks.

If it's only when the truck is running how could it be a watch? Have you sat in the truck at 5 past the hour with the truck off and listened for the beep?

I had a similar incident just recently. Mines was a leftover battery operated smoke detector hidden under all my tools...

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
This is a common problem in early year 2nd gens, didn't know it still happened in Tacomas after 07. They used poor batteries in the early year smoke detectors, so they don't last long, change the battery and you'll be fine.

You may want to remove your negative battery cable and wait a few minutes and reattach the cable. It may something related to the Key security and could be something going out. It is just a guess, but I haven't heard of this happening before. Good Luck.
