2017 Taco 125k miles on it.

I do alot of highway driving for work. Seems like once I have been on the highway for 20-30 minutes or so, average over 70MPH I can hear a whirring/whistling sound. When I get off the highway I hear it when I am around 2,000 RPMs. I replicated it for my mechanic who thought it was U-Joint related, he took it apart and couldn't find anything but then couldnt replicate the sound again. Got the truck back and had another highway trip and bam same sound is back. It may be the most annoying noise in existence currently.

Any ideas or anyone have a similar experience?

Rear differential was making a whining noise... | Tacoma World

Discussed at length unless maybe it's from something mounted on the truck? I had it on mine - more high pitched at 65-70mph when most prevalent. Took it to the dealer and after confirming with mechanic on a test drive he heard it, another service tech reverified and they changed rear end under warranty. No more "whistle" as he described it. He said they all have a whine noise from the rear sometimes. Never noticed anything else but all subjective to noise description. You'll see some say "It's normal, had it on all my trucks - turn up the radio. Others - the rear end has issues. However, at 125K, maybe something wearing out? Mine was around 20K.

Sounds like a wheel bearing or a sticking caliper dragging brake pads

I have a wicked nasty whistle, 45+mph with and without crosswinds since new, coming from the top of the right rear door and cab.
I have adjusted the striker inwards with not much change. It still looks like the door seal isn't touching the cab and the cab seal isn't touching the door.

I know it's not the brakes. We took them apart cleaned them up wire brushed them. Noise continued so we replaced them.

I will mention the wheel bearing to the mechanic. It really starts making the noise when I take my foot off the gas around 2k RPMs.
