high preasure injectors failure

just got my 2016 trd sport v6 4 door truck back from dealer they said the high preasure injectors failed inside my motor 160k miles. it will cost 5 k to go into the motor and replace any sugestions or has anyone else had same issue all ready replace all 6 low preasure injectors

 

I always find it suspicious when they call every injector. Unless something really crazy happened, why would every injector fail.

sounds like they are firing parts at the problem

 

That doesn't sound right to me. There are a few Toyota techs on here that will hopefully chime in.

 

Welcome to the forum. $5K sounds insane to me, I’d get another quote if I were you.

 

Do you perhaps mean the high pressure fuel pump in the direct injection system? Like @Bishop84 said, it seems unlikely that all the injectors failed at once.

Why was it at the dealer?

 

X2...there's no way all of the injectors failed at the same time. Get a second opinion.

 

it keeps miss firing #3 cylinder

 

Maybe a new spark plug and coil would fix that. Good luck!

 

ive already done thatb and coils and paid toyota 500 to clean out the system

 

Depending on how many miles it has, if one injector failed they may be recommending to replace the rest with the failed one.

 

How many miles on the spark plugs?

 

If there like a Honda…there all balanced/calibrated as a set…the only way they come is in a set of 6 for a v6… if one injector fails they all have to be replaced

 

they are tuned to the engine, each injector is stamped and needs to be identified then replaced.

Toyota does not recommend changing them as a set.

 

I’m assuming they did and air/fuel ratio test…. Usually the misfire will occur on cold start… injector is leaking into the cyl at key off

 

Oh ok.. I learned something there.. but if it was mine,with 160k with one already failing… I would seriously consider the other 5 since they will already be in there.. labor shouldn’t be anymore I wouldn’t think
