Looks like a good find, I’d favor them over 4000-5000k alternatives of other brands. Opener lights are really more about output than quality, and the ability to mitigate interference.

    Happy enough with these.

My kid has started reading or writing/drawing after he goes "to bed". The 40w equivalent GE relax bulb in his table lamp was too bright for the late night task. I instead swapped it with a lower output GE Vintage style LED bulb. Rather than 450 lumens with the 40w Relax bulb, I told it down to 125 lumens and a much warmer color temp more ideal for circadian rhythm. I initially I went with a 350 lumen GE vintage bulb, but still felt it was too bright.

    IMG_2713.jpg

I'm a big fan of these for late night use with the warm color temp. I added these to my office as well with 60w equivalent bulbs for use at night. Light quality certainly take a hit, but for the use cases where I'd utilize these vintage style bulbs I'm not concerned. Color temp is about 2250k vs the Relax 2700k, and CRI drops to 82.

The spectrum profile some interestingly somewhat similar.

Almost finished remodeling the house, had some LED can lights installed in the dining room - they set them to 3000k.

The kitchen and family room cans are set to 2700k

I was very surprised to immediately see a notable difference of only 300k!

In interior lighting it is pretty noticeable. Why 3000k in the dinning room but not in the kitchen?

No idea why the electrician set them to 3000k.

Easy fix though, pull the lights down, flip the selectors to 2700k and push them back into ceiling. Thankfully there were only 4 lights

Costco has some Feit Electric bulbs that are selectable. A19's and a few other styles. I bought several boxes of the 60w A19's and set them all at 2700k. They're brighter than I expected.

I’d favor buying the desired color temp and getting an HD light vs lower CRI with the ability to color change, as it seems unlikely you’ll switch it once installed.

Who has ideas for a newly enclosed patio, currently without roof insulation (may do foam board soon enough) with exposed rafters?

I can’t decide if it’s a storage room or a gym but high CRI would be nice. Aesthetics don’t matter one bit, romex will be stapled to the rafters.

Seems like HD LED tube strips running down the rafters would be the easy solution.

A ceiling fan would be nice if you plan to use the space as a gym.

Reviewing the cost of the rack + bar + bench has me pausing on that idea for a little while :)

Cheaper to just use my neighbor's gear

Don’t buy that gear new. You can find like new gear on FB Marketplace, Offer Up etc from people that thought they’d use it and never did and sell it off at a fraction of the new price.

Freestanding yes. Wall folding, a little harder.

This is my neighbor’s garage gym. And me failing to bench my marathon time late last year. I did 235 but couldn’t get to 247. A single setup is a healthy few grand.

oh, also, I picked up some 3 bulb w reflector florescent enclosures today off CL for $25 x 4 units. Hopefully straightforward to convert to direct wire led bulbs that I already have. The tombstones aren’t standard so I’ll have to see what I can do with the wires. 12 4’ bulbs should be great for that space.
@soundman98, is exposed romex ok on the rafters or do I need to run THNN in metal conduit?

Ok, who has a good suggestion for a workshop bathroom over sink light? I have the florescent fixture, converted to LED, but I’d rather have something a bit nicer and maybe warmer too (vs 5000k) though I could always buy two new LED tubes for that. I’d also like a nightlight option as I have constant power accessible in the box. I have a second light already present in the back of the room which I have on an occupancy sensor right now but wanting the extra output of the vanity light for shaving and the new shower. I’ll get some better photos later today, it’s a small room, vent fan is directly above the shower as toilet was relocated to make space and I didn’t want the hassle of moving the vent too.

Thanks. I have a 12 pack of these. I don't like them really. I'm hoping for something more of a single enclosure, shop/industrial in design, robust/beefy. Not pucks in the ceiling drywall. I want the ceiling plain jane here. I also don't want more wires in the ceiling, I got a full dose of fiberglass itch just redoing everything after demo and I don't want to open anything up again.

Off topic, but check your local code regarding bath exhaust fan location. I don't believe code allows placement directly above or in the shower. :sorry: To the side or anywhere else is fine.
