During normal driving, mine rarely goes over 2500. Sometimes not even 2000. That's not really high revving unless you are matting the throttle all of the time. Relax, it'll be fine.

Its a gear <> Engine rotation calculator :notsure:
I think it answers your question pretty well.

This is assuming that less rotations always equals a longer-lasting engine. But wouldn't that mean high-revving Hondas should crap out at a younger age? That doesn't seem to be the case.

Sorry You are asking philosophical question in response to mathematical calculation. I wanted to provide numerical value for your question.
Honda engine vs Toyota engine is philosophical dilemma that is fro you to decide.

It's a Toyota you can't break them or wear them out. They're f**king bullet proof. If you don't believe me just as someone who owns one ha ha

Time will tell if the 3.5L is bullet proof. The 4.0 and 3.4 very solid motors but the 3.slow motor had a lot of issues and it was a Toyota.

It really wasn't that bad once they got the head gasket issue sorted out. It was just ugly and slow and had lots of hoses.

Isn't there already an oil pump issue with the 3.5 that people have been having? I used to shrug off people who talked about first year growing pains of a new generation but maybe that holds true somewhat. Same with the transmission. Hearing rumors of a software fix by Toyota coming soon.

No, just a few people that didn't know that oil pressure drops when you stall the engine. There is no oil pump issue.

If the first gen Tacoma was a 3.4 then why are you worried about a 3.5?

Have about 12k on my 2018 now and used it to tow a big U-Haul trailer with heavy furniture last week.
Didn’t even notice it accelerating or running at highway speeds, only thing I noticed was the trip mpg went down.
I like this engine a lot! It, impresses under load.
