Hello Everyone! Have enjoyed this forum for the past 3 years and found it to be very informative
    and helpful.
I now have a problem I need help with.
I have a 2001 extended cab with a 2.4l engine. Just did an intake cleaning. Was not that dirty.
Put in new gaskets, cleaned the IAC valve, put back together, unhooked neg from battery. pulled EFI. Waited 20 min. put efi and neg cable back on and started the motor.
Went to 2500rpm and climbed to 3100rpm in 30 sec. Shut off motor.
tried again and same thing happened.
    any thoughts on the reason?
    Thank you!

I cleaned all that one time, along with my throttle body. found my throttle body was worn out. hold it up to the light, and see if the flap creates a perfect seal or if there is a bit of light that shines through.

    Thanks Greensystemsgo!

There is a 1/16gap at top and bottom of the flap. Just wonder how that would cause a start up rpm of 2500 and gradually climb to over
3100. Throttle linkage does not move and the TPS is within spec of FSM.
    What did i miss?
    Thank you!

Update! The TPS is with in FSM spec on the ohm readings for the TPS when unplugged.
However, when testing the voltage on the TPS, I found the power/ground voltage to be 5.005
and the signel/ground voltage to be from 0.654to 3.825 volt on zero to WOT.
Also the IAC when applied with 12 volts directly would not move/open close.
So this might indicate some new parts. Any thoughts?
    Thsnk you!
