It wasn't even that, i just didn't support the mounts and they started to tear apart (not at my weld seams though;)) but nonetheless not repairable, so I'm making proper hoops with an engine cage, just got to get ahold of a tubing bender now, or joints, but mehhhh not so pretty, much nicer with bent tubes

I think harbor freight has a decent tube bender, and with a warranty it shouldn't be too much of a risk using it.

Put your VIN into here: http://www.vindecoder.net/
It'll tell you all the options it came with from the factory, plus a bunch of other info. I would be very surprised if it came with a 2.7l and someone put in a 3.4l.

Seems a little counter intuitive to wanna wheel but also be able to peel. Aggressive tires = traction. 33s won't help your need for speed in any way, shape, or form either. it's really one or the other, speed or wheeling capability, unless you dump a lot of money into the motor and regear. Just lift it, 33" all terrain, and straight pipe it. Then at least you'll sound like you can go fast. Curious what happened to the camaro...

    Should'a kept the ls1...

Sounds like you bought a truck, then regretted it because you like showing off in parking lots, or maybe have v8 envy with all your friends in highschool.

Look, it's a pickup truck, you can get it sideways 100% stock (there's no weight over the back!).

But if you try to build a truck that can do both on-road and off-road performance, it will suck at both and you won't be happy. Just be honest with yourself on what you actually like doing. If it's drifting with yer bros, keep the truck with offroading mods, and get another muscle car.

Dead giveaway it was always a 3.4. Its a TRD with a locker. 4cyl off roads had no locker.

Ok haha I was just dreaming I guess thinking it would be possible to be decent at both. And yes it really is down to v8 envy as I really don't want a full size truck but I could do with a little more power.

I remember i used to "drift" my Double Cab on rainy days, because i had one bad tire in the rear. Mainly used to work turning left. When i look back at it, it was idiotic. So i highly recommend not going that route.

That's pretty much where I'm at, and where a lot of my friends who have toyotas are at too.
