Hello all. I have a 03 prerunner, while driving there is a large squeaking sound that is very loud from the under belly of my truck. It is very annoying and embarrassing. It only happens while driving. It just started happening a couple days ago. I was told already that I need new shocks and belts, but I fear that isn't the cause of the squeaking. I am wondering what else could possibly be the cause and what I should ask/suggest my mechanic. Below is a video of a similar problem I found on YouTube. This is not my video, but it sounds very similar to what is happening on my truck. I thank you so much for your replies in advance, and happy new year!

It's the belts. Trust me I had this squealing issue about a month or so ago, it is rather embarrassing driving around like you can't fix your car. I doubt it's from the undercarriage rather from under the hood.

Sounds like it may be one the pulleys as well.

Yup probably that as well, forgot they changed a pulley along with the belts at the dealership. No more squeal

Ok, that's sounds painless for my pocket book, except for the pulley replacement. I'm not a car guy, sorry my friends, so if I sound ignorant I apologize! I've also read that some joints need to be replaced or greased up? Thanks so much for the replies you guys, it's really awesome of you to take the time out and help a brother out!

Of course no problem! That's what these forums are for. Your joints should be fine, replace the belts and all that good stuff and go from there.
    Happy new year
