Sr5 Double cab longe bed 4x4

Ok. The weight Nazi might attack me for this one but thats ok

Per toyotas website the payload for the new tacoma longbed for the 2021 is now over 1100 pounds. Mine is the tiny 850 for the same truck. What they change? Leaf springs?? Anyone know.

I know legally this does not help me but as I expect to he towing 300 or so over payload I feel alot better. I do have helper springs installed. (Trailer will be under 4k). Payload so low you have to measure the weight of the coffie your drinking..

What are you comparing, are you looking at advertised vs the door sticker?

Payload values on the website are usually asterisked as measured on the lightest possible trim level. Its tough to do an actual trim-to-same-trim comparison unless you find one at the dealer and open the drivers door.

1500 lbs has to be for a 2wd access cab truck. Anything beyond that added to the truck is gonna drop it down.

Yeah I had the wrong weight, it's over 1500# for an AC 2wd.

That being said, my 17 has the same payload according to the web that a 2021 has. Do you have any port added options?

Port added options? Got steps on the sides and Matt's so have have a little sticker that drops payload to 800 from 850. I'm going to pretend my 100lb steel rear bumper(rear ended twice) does not add weight lol

Ans typing on phone and cant spell so sorry if I sound like 3 year old

My truck has a yellow sticker stating I am 1kg. down on payload from the factory due to mudflaps and chrome exhaust tip. I'd imagine stuff like tonneau cover or side steps knocks it down quit a bit.

I should add that I'm not seeing 850 being the lowest payload on a 19. I keep seeing 1120. DCLB AT with 4wd is the heaviest config, so that should be your starting point, not 850? Where are you seeing 850?

Ya. Yellow sticker drops mine to 800. Have a cover which weighs likly 30 lbs and 100 bumper. Which means it wont hold an aveage family of 4 empty. Its over payload getting groceries.

However. Its what I got and have to use. Anytime you use it as a truck realistly its going to be over. With the hekper springs (sumo) drove almost like nothing in the bed when I was carring 450 lbs or so

I like my sumos too. That being said... I do what I gotta do. I'm 100% I have been so far over payload that a Tundra would have cried. Be careful and mind the brakes as they tend to get really weak at high weight, as expected.

I have a sticker in my door jamb that says 950# payload. Absolutely no dealer added options. I still havent figured out why its lower. Should be 1120 or 1150, like you said.

I had a yard of gravel in my truck and the engine did not care, i did feel it when braking though. It was not riding on bump stops, i checked. Was about a 45 min drive on mountainous highway, no issues at all.
