Nothing to brag about but I'll represent the east coast . Mt Mitchell, highest peak east of the Mississippi

Mt. Bross is accessible, but not to the summit due to private property. You have to stop about 150ft short of the summit, but still over 14k.

I was the first documented person to accomplish all 155 of the highest passes in Colorado in shortest time. It wasn’t a Tacoma, but a overly built XJ. In hind sight I wish I would have just used a Subaru and saved myself some money. Colorado trails don’t have nothin on Central America.

I’ll try to find a pic at the turnaround spot, but here is one towards the bottom of the trail.

Highest road in Oregon. Can drive to about 9,600'. Nothing compared to other states but still so epic.

Multi generational gathering at about 13,000ft above sea level, Hermit Pass Colorado.

Peak 10 outside of Breckenridge might actually be slightly higher at 13,400ft but who knows. Both are great roads, nothing too technical with spectacular views.

Great idea for a thread OP! You guys inspired me to get out and see how high I could get my Tacoma. I loaded up my dog, grabbed my pack and headed out. As we drove toward the trailhead I could tell we were gaining altitude. We passed through an old ghost town then a quaint little mountain town before we turned off onto the road to the summit. After making it to the trailhead we had a hard push to the summit, I didn’t think me and the dog would make it. We finally topped out at the summit all the way up at 345 feet. I thought I was going to get a nose bleed but the high point of Florida has been climbed. Lol

Thanks for humoring me. I am envious of you guys out west. I retire in about a year and I do plan on showing my Florida tag on some of these passes and peaks.

Thank you. As an east coaster, i am also jealous of all the folks out west with their high peaks. But one day...

FTW. A few years ago in my '06 Tacoma (with old ass GPS). Mount Evans CO, 14,265′. "... this is the highest paved road in North America." Agreed, the paved part sucks, but the scenery part didn't.

That's our white Tacoma on the left side of the parking lot.

You got me beat... I was at Km. 97.5 (8,700 feet elevation) with my Tacoma at the observatory gate in Baja California. I was hoping to drive the rest of the way, to the observatories at Km. 100 (9,280 feet elevation) but the facility manager invited me to ride up with him. The observatory area was closed for maintenance but he was compassionate when I told him I was documenting the area for a new guide book.

Mi esposa and I went up there after a Baja 1000 about a dozen years ago. We hitched a ride in a little white pick up from one of the guys who worked there. Very nice people, and killer views. We also got to say hello to the deputy weatherman. After looking over the observatory, we drove down the hill and spent the night at Meling Ranch.

dude there are mountains there ? Nice.

That’s one thing I could never get down with. Every time I visited any state east of the Rockies I feel so bad for the people who lived in that endless flat expanse as far as the eye can see. Hunnn good for you guys. Still , I wouldn’t say they are mountains unless it has snow in summer and your truck looses like 50 horse power minimum.
