Hey guys, My dad's looking at getting a 2020 Highlander. He has a 21' Camper that is 2840lbs dry and 370 tongue weight.

These numbers are within the appropriately equipped highlanders range. Anyone of experience pulling with a Highlander?

I believe the max tow capacity for a highlander is 5000lbs so you are within the factory specs. When you load the trailer up you’ll be at around 4000lbs or so, still within capacity. I personally don’t think the Highlander is a great tow vehicle. It’s a good vehicle but not a great tow vehicle. If I was towing that trailer short distances or towing infrequently it would be ok, but frequent or long distance I’d want a different vehicle.

I don't disagree with you at all. It's not the most ideal. It's a unibody design so obviously won't tow that well. I'm trying to talk my dad into the T4R instead but he can't get a price down low enough. And he's set on an SUV. He does have a Suzuki Equator, which is essentially a rebadged Nissan Frontier. He'll be keeping it so he can always tow with that too but he want's an SUV that he can primarily tow with. He never tows with either clean water or gray/black water so that will at least save some weight as well.
