I’m thinking about putting some michelin ltx m/s2 on my 2020 trd pro wheels... how good or bad will a highway tire look on a aftermarket wheel? I’m so torn!

I'm in a similar situation. I'm going to ditch my 18" wheels and Wildpeaks for an H/T tire. Personally I don't think it will look terrible but I keep my wheels and tires clean and dressed almost always. For me, the added comfort on the road and improved gas mileage from the H/T tire is enough for me to make the switch.

What don't you like about your current tires?

I’m upgrading my steel wheels and stock sr5 tires with 2020 pro wheels and can’t decide on what kind of rubber I want

I run 255/75/17 Hankook AT3 RF11’s on my TRD PRO 4Runner wheels and the ride is way smoother and with better mpgs than my Falkens were. So far for basic trail riding and highway use it was a good decision. I’m up 2-3mpg from the tire and size change from 265/70/17. The Hankooks are more of an AT than a highway tire, but the change is noticeably smoother and softer than the Falken AT3’s. Function over form.

they will look good, the MICHELIN has thick looking lugs coming straight at you, the side profile is not going to look any worse than most H/T tires, the performance will be off the hook with them

I'm sorry, anything but a bogger just isn't going to cut it in this beauty pageant.

LTX M/S is a solid choice for ride quality and longevity. You will suffer a bit in the cool category by going with a highway tire, but they still have size to them and don't exactly look like you stole them from a mini-van. Another option is to look at the LTX A/T2. Very similar ride quality to the M/S with a more aggressive look.

I just want to see a bogger on a stock trock

LTX M/S is a solid choice. They're not terrible offroad either.

They don't look "cool" but the Michelin LTX are really, really good tires.

Do you want "cool" or do you want smooth, efficient highway driving?

Well the 4Runner lost a bit of its coolness factor, but it runs Michelin LTX M/S. Great tire for Colorado and the 4Runner.

This tire is the runner up for sure. I’m just stuck with this vs the Michelin. Good to hear a good review!

I have the Michelin on my subi and they are an excellent road tire, or fine when you need to dive on a less rocky dirt road. I did drive the snot out of them on some forest trails and I was surprised how well they stood up to the beating.

IMO they will look better, knobby's only look good when they are covered in Mud. But looks don't matter, the fact it will give you a better ride quality, cornering, braking, mileage, reduced noise, and better response does matter. Just remember, no matter what you do some crabby Enthusiast will say it's bad. Every single time. Do whatchalike!

I'd change my new factory tires for Michelins in a minute. I love their Ride, MPG, wear and little noise. Best Bang for the buck long term. Had many sets on my Cars. Got over 100K on more than on set !! However ... If YOU want looks, Knobby, Noisy AND you plan on off roading to really use/need the heavy tread tires ... well then you get what pleases you...
