Those were the stock tires, post lift, pre tire change/upsize. Chose it to show the tread on the Michelins.

For his well defined use, low treadwear, lousy in rain and cold. Reduced mpg in the dry from increased grip.

Yea, I know you're not serious. But kids reading the forum might not know better and take your advice. :p

Get you some street tires! Dont listen to TW, normal tires will get you pretty far. 99% of the people here dont off road hard enough to need the aggressive tires they have.

I personally stick with an AT tire just because I see a lot of gravel, and most AT tires are made with a cut/chip resistant compound. If I didnt have gravel, I would rocking some all seasons, getting 2 mpg better and real comfy ride

Falken Wildpeak A/T are really quiet. If you get them in stock size, shouldn't hurt mileage too much!

I have Falken Wildpeak at3w in 285/70/17 on my truck now and they are quiet. I ordered the Maxxis Razr’s because I wanted a more aggressive tire for hunting.

The original M/S is very highly rated, with a 85k mile projected treadlife as reported by Consumer Reports. I'm planning on getting a full set of them in 255/75R17 when my stock tires wear out.

Also, f*ck aesthetic considerations. My tire choice might earn a few chuckles from those elite Moab bois in the Kroger parking lot, but I'll be laughing all the way to the bank when I only have to change my tires once every 6 years.

OP, look at the Bridgestone Dueler's Revo3. Same mild A/T tire as the Goodyear Adventure Kevlar but lighter and better in rain and snow per the reviews.

Another good mild A/T tire choice are the Michelin LTX A/T, which have the same 85k mile projected treadlife as the Michelin Defender LTX M/S. Sizes are a bit more limited, which is why I'm not springing for them.

I get 12-13 mpg...No complaints here. As far as aggressive tires, I do a lot of deer hunting and would rather not get stuck every time I drive across a muddy bean or corn field.

There are a lot of mildly aggressive AT tires that ride well and still give a little better traction for off road driving. Truth be told 90% of us could do just fine with Michelin's or something similar. That is the direction I'd go rather than a true street tire.

    LISTEN TO THESE GUYS!

Seriously. You WILL NOT FIND A BETTER TIRE than the Michelin Defender LTX MS (Formerly known as the Defender MS2) for everything outside of deep snow / mud / serious off roading which might only make up 0.25% of anyone's driving on here.

I got rid of my shitty 2nd gen Rugged Fails for some Hancook Dynapro ATF RF10's in a P265/75R16, worked great for the first 15k miles but then traction fell off sharply AND HAND A BLOW OUT at 45k. Went to get a new set of AT tires... thought about switching back to the LTX MS that i had on previous vehicles, but no, wanted to be cool so went with LT265/75R16 load range C Cooper AT3... they were heavy, LOUD, and traction again fell off sharply around the 15k mark.

I waited for a LONG time for Michelin to come back with the SL265/75R16 tire, not the LT265/75R16 Load range E, and when they came back in SNATCHED them up.

Within the first 100 ft of driving away from americas tire I knew i made the right decision, truck felt lighter, drove WAY smoother, and SO MUCH quieter, I wont run anything else from here on out.

Dry grip is stupid good, Wet grip literally cant be matched, and i have not found a better NON snow/ice tire that does so good on icy light snow roads. Oh and lets not forget you wont find a tire that lasts as long.

Seriously, stop looking get the LTX MS in the size you want, go SL not LT load range E.

I didn’t read through all the threads before this, so sorry if someone already said it. But OR’s come with Kevlars that are street tires, which are pretty good, but many of us sell them almost new for upgrades to offroad tires. You should be able to find an almost new set of them cheap in your area from someone who did that with their Tacoma.

I have a local tire shop. The owner sold tires to me based on what he has on his family's trucks. Gotta be a decent tire and reliable if he uses them.
Why not check with a local guy who needs the business?
