    "Sold" it to carmax because they technically don't consider it a trade-in.

    Only got 6k for it... but it was kind of a tough situation because I had to drive out of state to get the new one, and I was somewhat at their mercy on the trade-in price. Although if it would have been any less, my wife and I would have been driving home two tacos!

    6 thousand for a 12 year old tacoma seems like a very good amount to me. I only got 2 thousand for my 14 year old dodge ram 2500.

    yeah... it only had 70,000 miles on it though, and was in really nice shape.

    but any reservations I had somehow melted away on the drive home in the 2011. go figure.
