@b_r_o You have more water in one photo than we have in all of southern Arizona.

Was that tree hit by lightning or did a branch rot off and fall? Did you see it nearby? It doesn't look like an old injury.

Now that you mention it, it may have been lightning. I don't remember any branches down by the trail

@b_r_o This thread feels like dueling banjos between the two of us except my banjo is out of tune, missing a string, and so dry it was picked up out of the kindling pile.

You mention that you're carrying a kid. I've got two myself (both in the 50lb.+ range) but hiking with them in the Tucson summer weather is dangerous. We normally get out in spring and fall but so much was closed this spring due to the pandemic that we basically skipped Spring 2020. Mix that in with the Bighorn Fire (which burned 120,000 acres right out my back door), there was nowhere to go.

I generally take pictures of the fish I catch more than the hike...

Pretty straight & kinda narrow but it’s only 1/2 block from home. The Harte trail. Part of the Grand Trail that stretches coast to coast. I’ll get better pics later.

Just a bit of the wildlife I see when on my hikes.

bottom pic is a moose. There was a calf with her. Kind of hard to see but it’s pretty center in the pic.

My dog would chase all those critters for hours :anonymous:

I have to leash her up when we're in mountain goat territory, she thinks she's invincible

My boy has a pretty good recall. He will get interested and chase but I can usually stop him 15 yards out lol. One thing he CANNOT handle well is fish. He absolutely has to try to grab my fish before I do lol. And he will swim/wade around in pocket water that I try to fish too. Pretty annoying but he’s my buddy and I can’t complain.

My day trips to the mountains have come to an end. I might get one more in this year. After that everything turns to running the hills looking for deer and elk.
