Absolutely worth the trip. It's a whole other feel from the lower 48.

Watridge Lake, Alberta earlier this winter. Nice easy day-hike or cross country ski to get out here and it's super quiet.

nice. I did a boat tour of out Homer.

One of my favo things was the drive into Whittier through the train tunnel. pretty neat state. wouldn't mind going back and doing some hiking

Yeah that tunnel is something else. I did it on a motorcycle and they made me go through last so that if I fell over, I wouldn't be run over. Confidence inspiring  Whittier itself has some stories to tell too.

Did you make it up to Denali? I really want to go back and do a backcountry trip there.

I went mountain biking in Squamish a couple years ago and quickly realized I could happily live there. I don’t think there is a bad view to be had.

Some stuff from the Catskill Mountains local to me. A couple of Switzerland and Scotland too. I do a lot of traveling with my wife and we try to do as much outdoors as we can when we’re out and about. Most of my trips out to the western US are all mountain biking related and not hiking. I would LOVE to live out west with the big mountains. The Catskills and Adirondacks are nice but they’re so old that they’re weathered and small now.

we drove through on the way to fairbanks. my biggest regret was not continuing north to the artic circle

we had lunch at the hotel in wittier and drove around. the old army base was a neat view/story. kayaking in teh bay would have been fun. maybe next time

So true! I'm hoping to relocate there in the near future. It's a mecca surrounded by meccas. Can't beat the lifestyle.

I stayed out in the forest there one night and loved it. Such a beautiful area. I would move to BC or YT in a heartbeat.

I love the skeletons that the Saguaros leave behind. They're protected so you can't even collect the dead ones.
