Not sure on this, but they probably sell the Hilux in more countries than the Tacoma.

Sell your Tacoma and get a Ridgeline :puke:if you like that body. Or go get yourself a Colorado diesel if you like the Diesel engine. :notsure:

Yes the Hilux is an international vehicle sold in more countries than the Tacoma. More pick ups are sold in the U.S. than all of the world's other countries combined. I'm trying to see where the 5th gen is going to get most of it's inspiration from. I'm leaning on the notion of a global platform.

Then why in the fu€k did you buy it! Did you not go for a test drive? I think the 3.5 is pathetic but that's ok, here's my money.

Didn’t realize dealers allow test drives on a trail. Guess I’ve been buying cars wrong! Next time I guess I’ll have to rig a test drive up with 1000lbs of gear and bigger tires before hitting a local trail.

If all you do is pickup tampons for your old lady then of course you ate happy with it, the Tacoma can carry a shit load of tampons lol. I expect no less from a “dude” that judge a truck on its looks and not it’s capability.

You know it’s gotten pathetic when driving around all day with the tow mode on is a thing.

I don’t understand that at all. The Hilux is unusually high for its length, similar to a Colorado.

I'm talking about the size of the cab in relation to how much larger the fenders, bedsides, and other panels on the 3rd gen. Much like GM, The Hilux overall looks more proportionate.

We will have to agree to disagree I guess. I think the Hilux looks like an SUV with the back end cut out. The entire front end looks very non-truck like to me.

Really?? You think the Tacoma is trying to look like GM??

The colorado and ranger are both butt ugly with minivan front ends and hideous tail lights- Toyota has the best styling for sure and the 3rd gen looks lean and muscular. The Hilux is whats's trying to look like a Chevy Colorado.

    OME and worth every penny.
I've thought the Tacoma followed the Japanese sport bike trend (like the Civic and Corolla) of looking like origami. There a word they use in Japan now for it. All angles, no flat surfaces. 9f242cae10757fe0642396a0df88b017.jpg

We called it 'the Praying Mantis' look at first and then maybe Samurai but it has it's own word. the Camry utilizes a lot also.

Down in Mexico, I've seen these higher end versions of the Hilux that just look so much better than the regular Hilux. I prefer any Tacoma over a Hilux, but I'll take a Hilux over any Colorado or Ranger.

I kind of like that but hate the roll bar in the bed.

Don't think so. Saw an interview of Mike Sweers who was or is still in Japan. Says he was sent to give input for American-style truck design for future vehicle projects.
