I saw those electric steps as well, in fact my wife saw them here and she really wants me to get a set. She complains constantly about having to get in and out of the truck. I just laugh. I do not like side steps much, they look cludgy. These might look quite nice, haven't seen any of a Revo yet.

I thought of replacing the floor boards to make it look clean, but man its costs an
arm and a leg... haha... maybe a nice rock slider with a step will work well and its
cost effective, but then again it wont look as clean.

I have looked at those individual steps as well but they look silly. The long running boards look cludgy. The electric hideaway ones look clean if they really tuck away nice like they show. You know what funny is when I bought the truck and would step on the running boards to get in I kept hitting my head on the damn door sill. I know its because I would sort of hop into the truck. After 3 times they were gone. Way better now

Just went thru your thread and loved your Hilux!
We have the Hilux here in Mexico but the 4x4 or the Diesel option are not available (why I don't know but it's stupid that Toyota Mexico don't affer it here) and I wish they did

i would love to take the running boards off my truck, but I cant due to the terrain we have.
some roads are gravelly and i would hate to fix the dents and what not from it. I hope to replace
it with a rock slider with a plate on it one day... maybe this year if my buddy gets his pipe bender.
There's a lot of available running board/sliders from big companys but man it'll cost me a kidney! haha

Will it be that in Mexico they have the same system as the US? Average pickups in the US have always been gasoline, 2014 onwards began to make diesel engines for medium pickup trucks.

We have the Ford Ranger in 4x4 diesel, we have the Mitsubishi L200 in 4x4 diesel, the VW Amarok 4x4 in diesel and all three of these models aren't available in the US and are competition for both the Tacoma and Hilux, and yet the Hilux is not available in 4x4 or diesel.
So to answer your question, we don't have the same system since there's no EPA shit like in the US but Toyota Mexico is very litimed to their models here in Mexico.
The Tacoma we only have 3 options for them, Sport 4x2 double cab v6, sport 4x4 double cab v6, and Limited 4x4 double cab v6, all in automatic transmition short bed.

Welcome El Topu (Juan) to the Hilux thread. Thanks for the comment on my truck. As I have said, All fun and glad to share across the globe. Interesting what Toyota offers and doesn't offer in various countries. Malaysia only sells gas trucks as far as I know. Same with the US and it appears Mexico. Here in Thailand you can get many vehicles with a variety of fuel options, Gas, Diesel, LPG and CNG. Many add the LPG in conjunction with the gas optioned trucks.

So they offer the Tacoma and Hilux in Mexico?

Yes Toyota Mexico offers the Hilux, Tacoma, and Tundra but verry limited in the options, no diesel or 4x4 in the Hilux, Tacoma only on Sport DCSB 4x4 or 4x2 and several packages on the Tundra on both 4x2 and 4x4.

We have small diesel and big diesel engines here in mexico, we have small/medium diesel trucks avaliable to us in Mexico that aren't avaliable in the US, such as the Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi L200, Nissan NP300, VW Amrok, all of these trucks have gas and diesel options in 4x2 and 4x4, Peugeot also offers a lot of diesel options in their cars /vans here in Mexico and other brands of cars, but why Toyota Mexico doesn't offer the Hilux in 4x4 and diesel or any of their other cars in diesel is a good question, I actually wrote a letter once asking if they'll be avalible (Hilux diesel 4x4) and never got an answer, went to a dealership and the manager didn't know if they will ever be avaliable, and because of Mexico's stupid import/export rules we can't import any cars or trucks that are made outside of US, Canada or Mexico and can only be between 8-12 years of age...

There is a lot of older trucks with v8 engines that people installed LPG, so they run on both gasoline and LPG.
